Gail Meade starting dancing at the age of 3 years. In her years of dancing Gail studied all genre of dance, received State awards for dance and was the first in WA to attain the Prestigious Blue Sash. Top award covering Classical, Jazz and Tap.
Gail performed in Musical shows such as Annie Get your Gun, Oklahoma and many local productions around Perth. She choreographed for TV Channel seven “Stars of the Future”as well as appearing as Percy Penquin regularly on children’s programmes.
Later she was a member of the Channel 7 workshop and appeared weekly as a singer/dancer on Channel seven’s live shows. Gail has choreographed for both TV and stage performances. She has also done adjudicating and conducted summer schools and workshops overseas.
In her Dancing years Gail’s love was Classical. Her first taste of classical performance was appearing in the Borovansky Ballet company at the age of 9 dancing in the Nutcracker.
She performed in the RAD WA ballet group under the direction of John Callendar later she become a soloist with the Perth Regional Ballet directed by French dancer Robert Pomie. appearing at his Mahjesty’s theatre & Perth’s Sunken Gardens and doing country tours.
Gail has been conducting her very successful Dance School, Gail Meade Performing Arts Centre for nearly 50 years and in this time the studio has produced many talented dancers who have gone on to successful careers in Dance.
In 2016 Gail was awarded the Inaugural CSTD Leslie P. Newman award for Outstanding Services to Dance.
Gail feels after the wonderful career she has had in dance she is now able to pass her passion onto her talented daughters who can take Dance to the next level.
