What our graduates say
Gail Meade Performing Arts Centre gave me the opportunity to perform from a very early age which has meant I have always felt at home onstage. I was also lucky enough to be trained in many different styles and genres of dance which has given me the upper hand in situations where I have needed to be versatile in the professional world.

West Australian BalletBeing part of Gail Meade is the reason I am the dancer I am today. I was lucky enough to complete my Bachelor of Arts (Dance) at WAAPA after being a student at Gail Meade’s for 13 years. I have always been told that I am a strong dancer and that is thanks to my training, training that has made me a versatile dancer. In today’s world of dance, being versatile is incredibly important and that is the type of dancer you will become if you study at Gail Meade Performing Arts Centre.

Paulette Carson Scholarship at WAAPAGail Meade Performing Arts Centre was my first insight into the delights of enjoyment that I felt, dancing with my friends. Being able to use my imagination and move to music was my favourite thing to do in the week.
As I got older, the school helped build my foundations in all the styles I could’ve possibly learnt, aiding my diversity as an artist. Along with the many dance styles, I was also exposed to the world of musical theatre through singing and tap classes, where I learnt about musicality and it’s importance in the performing arts.
The school offered me the opportunity to participate in exams and compete with and against my peers that lead to my understanding for healthy competition and a strong sense of performance. I was taught the discipline, etiquette and conventions of work ethic as an individual and a team member.

Sydney Dance CompanyBefore moving to Melbourne I trained at Gail Meade Performing Arts Centre for 9 years. Training here was an amazing experience for me because the teachers made the environment so exciting and welcoming. To work with the teachers at Gail Meade and have them push me to where I am today is something I will never forget. The technique and performance quality that they put into training has pushed me to become the dancer I am. They have inspired me to be a disciplined and hardworking dancer and now attending full time training in Melbourne this has come through in how i push myself everyday.
I am very proud to say that I trained at Gail Meade and will always be Team GM.
